Loretta J. Ross

Loretta Ross is a grassroots organizer, and leader of national and international movements for racial and economic justice and women's rights. She is an expert in the politics of women's health, hate groups, and sexual violence. She has served most recently as co-founder and national director of the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. For more information see finding aid for the Loretta Ross Papers.
The following audio recordings were digitized from Loretta's personal audio tape collection which she donated to the SSC with her papers. They include speeches, conference panels, workshops, and radio broadcasts, dating from 1983 to 1989. Topics pertain primarily to human rights, racial justice, domestic violence, women's health, reproductive justice for women of color, and networking and organizing between women of color. Most feature or include Loretta Ross, but not all. Audio quality varies depending on the age of the tape and conditions of the original recording.
